The President-Elect

Dallas High School students talk about how the election of Donald Trump as president affects their lives.

Read the following words and phrases and their definitions.
  • mind-set - particular way of thinking; the attitude or set of opinions of a person about something
  • act on what you say - actually do the things you talk about
  • deport - force people to leave a country
  • impact - powerful or big effect
  • basically he’s saying .... - in fact he’s saying ...
  • sexual assault - he crime of touching someone in an unwanted sexual way
  • turmoil - a state of confusion and disorder
  • president-elect - a person who has been elected president but who has not officially become president yet
